Currently, I am a law student, Rubin-Presser Social Justice Fellow, and Conwell Scholar at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law.

ORGANIZING
For most of 2022, I was the community organizer of the Users Union at VOCAL-NY, a New York City grassroots advocacy organization and harm reduction services provider. I rebuilt a grassroots base of poor drug users who powered the Users Union’s historic campaign to secure the future of the nation’s first above-ground overdose prevention centers, located in Manhattan, and to chart a path for more to open all across New York State. My prior organizing experience includes successfully co-leading an initiative to radicalize the NYC Democratic Socialists of America’s political platform on drug policy, and co-founding Do It Safe, Heaux! (DISH!), a discontinued harm reduction collective by and for trans women who use crystal methamphetamine.

HARM REDUCTION
From February to August 2023, I provided care and case management to unhoused New Yorkers experiencing psychosis and other extreme states through my position as a Harm Reduction Specialist on Community Access’s Bronx Shelter ACT Team. In 2021, I went from volunteering to working as a peer at The Alliance for Positive Change’s Lower East Side Harm Reduction Center, where I expanded and deepened the syringe exchange’s connection and trust with Washington Square Park’s community of unhoused New Yorkers who use crack cocaine. During that time, I was trained as a Certified Peer Recovery Advocate.

As an independent harm reductionist, I have spearheaded the popularization of the safer practice of boofing within the harm reduction movement, namely through my topic-defining zine. I regularly speak publicly as a harm reduction expert, including news interviews for WNYC’s The Brian Lehrer Show and VICE, lectures for the Columbia School of Social Work, and panels hosted by the New York State Department of Health, CDC, the Reagan-Udall Foundation for the FDA, Drug Policy Alliance, the National Harm Reduction Coalition, and the National Alliance of State & Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD). I

JOURNALISM
From 2018 to 2022, I worked as a journalist, publishing with The Intercept, The Nation, VICE, The Appeal, and ACLU Magazine, among others. I have had the honor of working as the original staff writer at Filter, the only US journalist publication dedicated to covering harm reduction, from its launch in 2018 to 2021. I also had a short-lived VICE sex column, MTF & DTF. My journalism has attracted the media attention of CBC, The Appeal, Nomiki Konst, and even the far-right radio host Ben Shapiro.

EDUCATION
In 2018, I graduated cum laude from Vassar College with degrees in philosophy and women’s studies. I served as the co-editor-in-chief of the Vassar College Journal of Philosophy, and was deeply involved in Vassar’s Students for Justice in Palestine chapter and its historic 2015-16 Boycott, Divestment, & Sanctions (BDS) Campaign, as well as the campus solidarity group, Student-Labor Dialogue.

I graduate from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law in 2026. I have been awarded the prestigious Rubin-Presser Social Justice Fellowship and Conwell Scholarship.
